Last time I have done a post was in 2021. With my desired goals for that year needed up being on hold but this year I have finally started to push forward in making videos. First round of video for 2022 is a some what polished video for a pony for sale. I have been working a lot in my main job and now I am requiring the equipment bit by bit to push forward to production. So the desired approach and direction I want is to make some video projects from creative, sale horse video, horse riding, clinics, Interviews series and maybe doing some recording/streaming of selected horse shows. Regardless of my job or project, my aim is to make a high-quality video best as I can. Horse Sale Video - I will like to have 30 seconds in each direction on each gait. In hand leading, mounting on, Walk, Trot, Canter, and jumping. Nice music and be using outside location best as possible for lighting. The aim is to have a video of fewer than 3 minutes with some information about the horse and the contact person. Enough to get interested and make inquiry of the sale. 15s to 60s long video for Instagram. This will be used as a form of advertisement. Riding lessons will be recorded with two microphones. In the near future, Rider and trainer will be able to speak and will be documented. For clinics, the trainer will be the only person for recording the sessions unless it's a private session. The videos will be maxed at 60 minutes on clinics and riding lessons. Interviews - This will be a series coming up I am working on by interviewing organizations, Farm owners, and trainers. Most of all the trainers will have a chance to have a small spotlight. Though I am currently working on a format to make this work. These projects will take a couple of days and a lot of setups to make a video that could be as long as 30 minutes. Now if you not subbed to my YouTube video for Celtic Arms Imagery. After shutting down for most of 2020. I am now working to come back events and provide video or photography services. The goals I have in 2021 is simple which is expanding on my video services mostly.
As the example of what I have been doing in the first month of 2021. My current goals is to earn enough to upgrade my equipment to do more. While I am able to do more I am also, able to improve my own skills and out come of my work. I have the full HD camera but with I have gotten the 4k camera when I did. For now it does very well and maybe upgrade in the future.
So I am back and hoping to do some shows this year. My time is limited with my full time job but if I am free I will try and come to the events. If interested give me a message. Folding@homeWith all barns and businesses does a Coronavirus update. I am going to share what I am doing about it. Not only I am following instructions and advice from the local government and CDC. As some of you know I have a full-time job and risks are high. So I have done some video production work beginning of the week and now I will be staying home. I will not be doing any other with Celtic Arms Imagery for some time. Now what I am doing in the meantime with Celtic Arms Imagery is I have set up some old PC's and started to do a 24/7 research with Folding@home. I have been this for some time to help with other devices but with the coronavirus. I have switched resources to help researchers. This video link below explains it well on the mission. If you have a PC or Mac. Celtic Arms Imagery has a team. Team number 241877 Mini-documentary of Marie and DiegoI am now going to try and take it a step more than just doing video and photo's. I am now working to do a mini documentary of Marie and Diego of their training. Every two weeks starting on the 11th I will be releasing a video of them both carrying out a wide range of training. Check out our first episode of their journey of horsemanship. Hello everyone. Oh boy, I have not posted a blog for some time. So here is a post about the upcoming Geoff Teall Jumping Clinic in April. I will be there both days to help cover the clinic, taking both videos and pictures.
Video: Video recording will be available for two riders per session. The cost for a recorded session will be $50 per rider and the video will be uploaded to the Celtic Arms Imagery YouTube channel. The video will be set as "unlisted" meaning you (or anyone you share the link with) can see it. Comments will be disabled. Photos: Pictures will be uploaded to the Celtic Arms Imagery Gallery. Individual pictures will be $10 per high resolution download. An option to order prints will be available directly from the gallery as well. This will be a great opportunity to have your ride recorded for follow up reference/recap and to get great photos of the entire event without distracting from the clinician! With the Sony NXCAM HXR-NX100 and Sony A6500 and good audio equipment, I'll be able to provide good quality video and edits within approximately two weeks following the clinic. On Saturday 7/6/19 the Non-Profit Organization hosted an event in Waterford, Maine. The event was an endurance ride of 30 miles and 50 miles. As I was there for the day I spent some time hanging around different parts of the loop and holds to get some video footage. Also hanging out with Wanda Clowater (Clowater Art & Photography). For more information on the organization visit their facebook page.
So I will be honest I forgot I have a blog section on my site. I tried to post on my facebook page of the Youtube and gallery link but, some reason Facebook messed with my post only sending people to the youtube channel only when shared. So as it's created a little confusion at first. After this blog it will straighten out the confusion and have the links in one place without Facebook confusing people. So as I been at MeHJA From start to almost finish. Long day for pictures and videos Though as I spent the day editing and organizing the work to share. It was worth the long day seeing the results and I hope everyone be happy with the mixture of video and pictures. As with the video below this main video representing the day at MeHJA. There is a MeHJA playlist on the Youtube channel listing different riders. For the next event location and weather depending I will be bringing all my equipment to have a smoother video recording. Now with the Pictures, I use Pic-Time as it's a new website service I hope no one has issues.
I like to say the digital download is $25 for High Res no watermark. Clients who purchase the digital copy can get prints for them self or can use my gallery to order prints if they wish. As long as no editing and personal use only. For business use, the fee will be different and agreement can be made case by case. So while we are all enjoying the very hot summer. Chris my son has 11 chickens and 5 brand new chicks that hatched this year. It was hot that day he was only wearing his shorts. During this time I thought I take the opportunity to take some pictures of the chicks and my son was holding one of them. I use the 70 mm prime lens for this and the natural lighting was just perfect. Looking back on the computer I felt blown away with my pictures. So I figured I share my little private moment with my son and the chickens. Now only two of the chickens has been mothering and protecting the five chicks. So I am hoping to take more pictures and maybe make some cute little video of the chicks!
On a nice sunny day, I have decided to stay in and catch up with editing. I have been very bad recently putting editing off. So here is a short blog about my night with friends and Red Sky Mary Me and other good folks went to Dover, NH to see Red Sky Mary at Fury's Publick House. As I was a designated driver I was not going to drink but bring them to Dover. As I was at the fine pub I decided to try out my Sony A6500 in very low and red light situation. I have no flash for indoor use but I want to put the Sony camera to the test. These are not in my high-quality pictures as there is some white noise. Never or less I am very impressed how this pictures came out with the 70-200mm f4 lens. I used this lens as it was my highest quality lens I have in the bag. Here are some pictures from the night and a link to the Gallery as well. Short VideoHere is the video I recorded with the A6500 with no mic. I was impressed it done well with the sound compared to a Cell phone. Over all I am really impressed how the camera has performed in this situation with pictures and video. With this I am going to make an effort to do more work with them and other places. If you haven't seen Red Sky Mary then you should. Great band and always having fun performing!
I have started to do pictures and video editing. I went to two different horse farms to take photos and play around with the camera setting and to get the feel for the Sony A6500 features/settings and lenses. I have gotten a little more motivation to improve my own experience and skills when I saw this video done by Maximilian Sarnow of his sister in Germany. After being inspired by his work, I am looking forward to learning and studying on making videos. At the moment Maine weather has been a problem for me because I hate doing photography or video in the snow. It's April, we are still getting snowfall which is becoming frustrating. Cold tempters are also putting some people off to do anything outside. So in the meantime, I am currently looking to buying more lenses to my collection. Looks like I am focusing on a prime lenses at this time. Looking at the lens market for the Sony E-Mount I feel there aren't enough lenses on the market for that camera. In a way, it's a problem in itself but I have faith when people buy more Sony camera the more the demand will be for lenses. Like Sigma is already working on making lenses for Sony due to the shortage of available lenses. My first try in video of a young horse: My first try in video of young horse
Now I am going to be a critic of my own work, as I need to learn what settings are being used on the camera. I’ll start off with the first few clips as she was grooming the horse. I didn't have the shutter speed high enough, so her hand movement was blurring out and not clear. Also, the other part I was not in the best position in the indoor school to take video shots of Rummler's Toot having fun in running. At that point I had taken the camera off the gimbal when I shouldn't have done so. As you can see, I was moving the camera a lot more at the time which wasn’t as smooth in movement. Lastly, I think I picked the wrong lenses to use for this shoot, but then again I am slowly working on increasing my lens collection for different tasks I am studying and practicing to push for high quality of video and pictures. The more comfortable I get with my equipment, the more I am going to push my creative outlet. As soon as the weather improves, the more I am hoping to come out with some good videos in the near future. Most of all, when I take my son to his horse riding lessons.
