I have started to do pictures and video editing. I went to two different horse farms to take photos and play around with the camera setting and to get the feel for the Sony A6500 features/settings and lenses. I have gotten a little more motivation to improve my own experience and skills when I saw this video done by Maximilian Sarnow of his sister in Germany. After being inspired by his work, I am looking forward to learning and studying on making videos. At the moment Maine weather has been a problem for me because I hate doing photography or video in the snow. It's April, we are still getting snowfall which is becoming frustrating. Cold tempters are also putting some people off to do anything outside. So in the meantime, I am currently looking to buying more lenses to my collection. Looks like I am focusing on a prime lenses at this time. Looking at the lens market for the Sony E-Mount I feel there aren't enough lenses on the market for that camera. In a way, it's a problem in itself but I have faith when people buy more Sony camera the more the demand will be for lenses. Like Sigma is already working on making lenses for Sony due to the shortage of available lenses. My first try in video of a young horse: My first try in video of young horse
Now I am going to be a critic of my own work, as I need to learn what settings are being used on the camera. I’ll start off with the first few clips as she was grooming the horse. I didn't have the shutter speed high enough, so her hand movement was blurring out and not clear. Also, the other part I was not in the best position in the indoor school to take video shots of Rummler's Toot having fun in running. At that point I had taken the camera off the gimbal when I shouldn't have done so. As you can see, I was moving the camera a lot more at the time which wasn’t as smooth in movement. Lastly, I think I picked the wrong lenses to use for this shoot, but then again I am slowly working on increasing my lens collection for different tasks I am studying and practicing to push for high quality of video and pictures. The more comfortable I get with my equipment, the more I am going to push my creative outlet. As soon as the weather improves, the more I am hoping to come out with some good videos in the near future. Most of all, when I take my son to his horse riding lessons.
